VIGG participates in the Program for the fundamental scientific research for the state academies of sciences for the years 2008 - 2012, approved by the RF Government on 27.02.2008, № 233-p, and funded by the federal budget.

The Institute  participates in the federal program "Research and development on priority directions of scientific-technological complex of Russia for 2007-2012", "Scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of innovative Russia," Science and Technology Program of the Federal Forestry Agency of Russia, as well as grants RFBR and the Russian President Grant for State Support of Leading Scientific Schools.
